It’s been over a month since schools have been closed and it doesn’t look like they’ll be opening back up this school year. Children have been home for weeks, some with not much to do and looking for something new or different.
This past week we decided to pass out board games to all the kiddos visiting the food giveaway, at a local elementary school in the community. We figured it would give the kids something fun to do over the weekend. I brought four different game choices. The choices were Candy Land, Chutes and Ladders, Connect Four, and Sorry. The most popular game was Candy Land, which supersized me.
The amazing thing about playing games are all of the benefits. According to scholastic.com , games boost language skills, sharpen focus, teaches the values of team work and let’s not forget priceless family time together. When we were kids connect four was our favorite and we could play it for hours trying to beat everyone and be the champions!
If you haven’t played a board game in a while, pull one out to play with your family. You’ll be surprised how much fun you will have.

Hey Friends, thanks for visiting! For those who may not know me, my name is Tenicia. I’ve been involved in community outreach my entire life, but professionally it’s been about 5 years. I’ve worked for churches, schools and non-profits. I love what I do. No one day is the same, I meet new people all the time. Wherever I go people stop me to ask what I’m working on or who they can connect with. I thought it would be a great idea to share some of that info here on this site.
